Another 9/11 note: “This is a God Thing” — Sarah Palin’s straight talk, no media distortions. This’ll float your boat…

Sarah Palin speaks to the Wasilla Assembly of God Church — click the link below — working to make sure “God’s will be done here.” Give it the 14 minutes, folks, hear her out. The war is a “a task that is from God,” don’t you know. “That plan is God’s plan.”

You may find this moving in terms of personal beliefs; admirable in a Christian mother; essential in a theocracy; but its undeniably madness in a Vice President or high government figure in a pluralist democracy.

  • “God’s will has to be done in unifying people and companies in getting that gas line built…”

    • This link has been circulating via emails as a way of rallying supporters.

    And it’s working.

    9/11 PM followup:

  • Here’s Sarah Palin’s explanation to Charlie Gibson of ABC News of her statement about the war being “God’s Plan” — it sure doesn’t jive with what I see/hear in the source video.
  • Here’s a short online documentary that claims to provide some context for the Assembly of God; make of it what you will, I’m unsure of its validity, though on first blush it is in accord with what I’ve found thus far online. I want to learn more.
  • Be that as it may, this is alarming in any context, personal, political or religious — with all Bush and Cheney have already done to heat up the ‘dead’ Cold War, Palin is hardly talking Prince of Peace material here.

  • And Palin’s grasp of the current mortgage crisis — and its latest eruption in the Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac Federal bail-out, an extreme necessity adding an instant burden to the national debt on Bush’s watch — isn’t exactly reassuring.

    • We need to hear more, no doubt about it.

      What I’m hoping they can uncover and distribute is video footage of the religion-mad asswipe talking in tongues. That would wrap it up, I think.
